The Chief Commissioners of the Caribbean
INVITATION TO THE 13th CARIBBEAN SCOUT JAMBOREE
Dear Fellow Scouters,
The Scout Association of Guyana is pleased to invite your Associaton to the 13th Caribbean Scout Jamboree to be held from 9 to 17 August 2003. An interesting and challenging programme is being prepared for the event designated CaribJam 2003. The theme is "One Movement, One Destiny". The Government of Guyana has indicated its support for the event and we have already begun discussions with many senior government Ministers and personnel.
The Jamboree will be held at the National Park, Georgetown, venue of the 3rd Caribbean Jamboree in 1969. We are preparing for 1200 Scouts and Leaders and look forward to your Scouts being among them. There is no limit to the number you can send though their ages must be between 12 and 16 years. The Camp Fee is USD$ 125.00. We are guaranteeing you an event that will foster the principles of our Movement and organised in harmony with the standards set by the World Bureau and the InterAmerican Scout Office.
Beginning February 2002 and continuing every three months, bulletins will be sent to your Association giving details of the event. We ask now that you indicate the intention of your Association to participate in the CaribJam 2003 and the approximate number of Scouts you would like to attend. The Scout Association of Guyana, the Jamboree Organising Committee and the people of Guyana are preparing to welcome your Scouts. We intend making CaribJam 2003 even more memorable than its 1969 counterpart, especially as this will be the first Caribbean Jamboree of the Century and our first in 34 years.
Yours in Scouting,
Mr. Peter Fraser
